Greece is one of the most safe and friendly countries in the world. Our culture, food and beaches are well known. We are also a top destination for medical tourism, with many healthcare specialists having worked in countries such as the UK, France, Germany or USA.
An evaluation report of the World Health Organisation placed Greece as one of the best country for healthcare in the world. In terms of performance, Greek healthcare was ranked 14th out of the 191 countries surveyed and 11th in quality of service.
Visa requirements
If you are coming from a country outside Europe and you need a visa, please contact the nearest Greek embassy from where you live and ask what they need. We will be happy to assist you with medical letters.
Travel insurance
It is advisable to have travel insurance to avoid any costs in case of a possible departure delay. We take all the necessary measures to minimise any possible complications during surgery, however there are cases when it might happen, and the patient might need to stay in the hospital/country longer than it was anticipated.
Cost reimbursement
Patients that wish to get their cost reimbursed either from their state healthcare or private insurance company, will get our assistance.
Currency
Our national currency is euro. All costs will be taken in euro. If you have your own currency, like dollars or pounds, you can exchange it in some of the banks.
Prescription
Some medications are available over the counter and others require prescription. Should you require a strong medication that needs a letter to pass the airport checks, let us know.
